Kafkai Review – The AI article writer

Kafkai-AI writer

So I was served an ad on Instagram for this amazing AI writing machine called Kafkai, it promised to save hours of my time and money if I needed to write content regularly, with AI driven content that was good to go, with light editing required.

I was intrigued and a little scared at the same time. AI is taking over everything! Will it really be able to replace writers, as early as 2021? The ad came with a 3 day free trial, following which we could choose between 4 different price points:

The price reflected above was the retail price, but my ad came with a promo of roughly 50% off for all of the pricing tiers, so I clicked on the free trial to give it a go. I thought with my day job sucking up most of my time, this tool could be my secret weapon to being able to commit to a regular blog schedule without sacrificing too much time.

With gleeful and slightly sweaty palms, I clicked “free trial“.

I duly provided my PayPal details, and proceeded to login and started generating my first articles. To be honest, I didn’t really have any expectations at this point, but at least hoped for human readable content, that with light editing, would be post-worthy.

There are a couple of ways to generate articles:

  • They have niches that you can click on, select the number of articles to generate, and voila, the AI goes to work.
  • Another method would be to provide a seed; a title, an intro paragraph of the topic, and the AI will generate an article based off your seed inputs.

After providing inputs for some niches, I sat back and waited for the articles to be generated.

Crap, powered by AI

I could not believe the quality of the articles that were generated. They were, in a word, unusable.

Okay, let’s start with the article that was in my opinion, the best of the lot. It was generic, but still, mostly readable. It was about SEO techniques. You can see the seed paragraph from me at the top.

To say that you can edit lightly and it’s ready to be published is kinda overstating things a bit.

I also have to point out that the title mentioned 5 techniques while the article stopped at 4.

So that was based on the SEO niche. Now let’s take a look at one of the articles for the finance niche. This should be interesting, and relevant.

If you’re thinking “what the flying fuck did I just read??”, you’re welcome. The title was promising enough, but I couldn’t anymore at “domain riding”. And that last paragraph just made zero sense.

They’re smart enough to put up a disclaimer, but come on!

Not one to give up, I decided to give it another go. This time, a travel article maybe? Something a little lighter and perhaps easier for an AI to grasp and write about.

Also, this time, no seed words. Just a generic travel article, totally up to the AI to write.

Okay…

Back to square 1

Looks like I can’t just sit back and let machines write my blog posts for me, and even though I was disappointed by the output, at least the output did give me an idea for this article. =P

Also, I know there are a couple of other AI content writing programs out there like GPT-3 and ai-writer. Now I’m kinda motivated to kick under their tyres and see if there’s anything interesting under the hood.

On the bright side… you’re still safe, writers!

For now.

Oh wait! Before I forget…. just for fun, I also got Kafkai to create an article for Bitcoin. You’ll love this.

  1. You don’t even have to write a review, the articles generated speak for themselves. I tried a couple and I was like “what did I just read?”. Frustration beautifully expressed. I could relate!

The developers of such AI writing softwares knew how lazy some humans are. People don’t want to think, so they see it as a pain point to capitalise on and make money.

It will certainly work for them and sell well . If the developers themselves write their own marketing copy to sell their silly bots promising to write content for the fools who want write content with AI for humans to consume.
