My Crypto Portfolio

my crypto portfolio

Today, you get a special glimpse into what’s in my bag. My crypto bag.

I’m not going to go into actual numbers, but I will do, is show you my crypto portfolio, as well as their respective allocations that make up my crypto investment.

What’s in the bag?

As you can see, I’m heavy on the biggest 2 players in the crypto space, Bitcoin and Ethereum. These 2 big boys combined make up 92% of my portfolio. Litecoin comes in a distant 3rd, and the rest are really quite negligible.

Bitcoin

Obviously the big boy here. The good old store of value and hopefully, one day, medium of exchange. That’s the dream right? The day we transact in sats, and don’t ever have to sell any bitcoin.

Ethereum

The #2 in market cap for cryptocurrencies definitely deserves the #2 status in my portfolio. In fact, a lot of people think that ETH may outperform BTC in terms of price appreciation this run, as it did the previous run.

And it may very well happen. If Bitcoin is digital gold, Ethereum is the engine of the new paradigm of the internet. With DeFI set to play an even bigger role moving forward, I can see a lot of room to grow for ETH, the main blockchain on which a lot of DeFI protocols run on.

Litecoin

Litecoin is a strange one to have, and I am often conflicted with it. It came into prominence during the 2017 bull run, and is often called the silver to bitcoin’s gold. Their base code is largely similar, with the only difference being the supply is 4X more, and the transaction times are quicker.

A lot of the initial use-cases for Litecoin was as a medium of exchange given its speed, and it will grow in lock-step as bitcoin matured. Bitcoin matured, but litecoin is still a long way from its previous ATH.

With Lightning Network and other layer 2 protocols for Bitcoin being built, I’m not sure Litecoin will flourish much longer. It is still in the top 10 coins from a market cap perspective, but only just.

Cardano (ADA) and Polkadot (DOT)

These 2 blockchains were praised for their innovation, and a slight potential to be Ethereum killers, or at least line up to be decent competitors to Ethereum.

So I picked up a little bit as an insurance, and if they do get traction and do a 100X from here, they will grow to be a not insignificant portion of the portfolio.

NANO

I honestly can’t remember why and when I got NANO, so here’s a blurb I found.

Nano is a cryptocurrency that describes itself as “a low-latency payment platform that requires minimal resources.” Each address on Nano has its own blockchain (a structure known as a block lattice) and users provide the computational power required to verify their own transactions, allowing transactions to be processed without fees.

Doge

Erm… Elon made me do it?

Honestly, I got it in 2018 for the lulz, and look who’s laughing now? Thank you Elon!

In a bull market, literally everything is in the green, but you know you’re in crazy land when Dogecoin is currently sitting at 11th in terms of crypto market cap.

So, what’s in your bag?

  1. Hi do u buy all of these crypto from the same crypto platform? Which crypto platform would u recommend to buy and sell crypto like ETH? And which platform to earn interest ?

    1. Hey, I use a couple of different platforms just to spread out platform risk. I use coinbase, crypto.com and binance. They have no fee promotions from time to time so you may wanna check them out before buying.

As for interest earning, crypto.com is pretty good. 6.5% p.a. and above. I’ve heard good things about blockfi as well.

  2. Hi a newbie here and wld like to ask as below:
    1. if u use coinhako? Wonder if u familar w this platform and any comments on it?
    2. Heard is quite hassle free as one can use fast tsf. Are there other sales charges and holding fees to the crypto currencies one is buying from the platform?

    Thanks.

    1. Hi Jol,

Thanks for reading and commenting. I’m not too familiar with Coinhako as I don’t use them. But yes, I have heard that they are rather hassle free and the good thing is they are based in Singapore.

I currently use cryptocom as there are more features and I’m also using their debit card.
